ISO 9001: 2015 - Quality Management System
Since the late 90s, the production plants of the company have adopted Quality Management Systems certified by accredited institutions and compliant with regulation UNI EN ISO 9001 in order to ensure customers maximum satisfaction with the quality of products and services offered. The certification of the Quality Management System also shows, in the context of the production process of the film factories in Muzzano and Vignola, compliance with good manufacturing practices aimed at respecting hygiene requirements necessary and applicable to plastic films. Since 2009, in view of homogenisation of the management of company processes and methods of addressing the market, the company has exceeded the boundaries of the factory by adopting a single transverse Quality Management System whose certification is reported below:

BRC – Product certification (PVC plastic films produced at the plant in Muzzano)
The BRC standard (which stands for "British Retail Consortium") establishes the indispensable benchmark hygiene requirements for food processing factories and the related production chain, including producers in the food packaging sector. The BRC standard was created to strengthen and promote food safety throughout the supply chain and standardise and share the criteria according to which retail organisations and/or accredited certification bodies carry out verifications of compliance with hygiene issues related to production processes, the healthiness of products and the safety of the end consumer.

Industrial and Domestic compostability certifications for the Nature Fresh bioplastic film
Nature Fresh is the innovative compostable bioplastic film developed by Fabbri Group to meet the increasingly urgent demand from consumers, industry and institutions for packaging materials with minimal impact on the environment.
In accordance with the EN 13432 standard and the national standards for domestic compostability, Nature Fresh is certified as suitable for both domestic (TÜV Austria) and industrial composting (TÜV Austria, European Bioplastics, Consorzio Italiano Compostatori - the Italian Consortium of Composters).
Nature Fresh is also available in printed version, with compostable inks certified for industrial compostability (European Bioplastics): at the customer's request, the certification logo can be printed on the pack, in accordance with the guidelines provided by the certifying body, to communicate to consumers its commitment to environmental protection, while providing useful information on the correct disposal of the film.

OK-biobased® certification for the bioplastic

BIOBASED STAR FILM is certified "OK Biobased®" by TÜV Austria using the Isotope C14 survey method, which determines the percentage of Carbon from renewable raw materials in the total organic Carbon (% Bio-based Carbon).
This is a simple, precise and scientific method that exclusively identifies the percentage of renewable and plant-based raw materials used in the formulation of the film.
The certification thus makes it possible to include the use of BIOBASED STAR FILM in the sustainability report of companies operating in the packaging sector, which reduce the use of materials from fossil sources in favour of alternatives based on renewable sources. BIOBASED STAR FILM is also available in a printed version: at the customer's request, the certification logo can be printed on the packaging, in compliance with the guidelines provided by the certifying body, to communicate to the end customer their commitment to safeguarding the environment.

Automac 55 Più, Automac 75, Automac 95, TopLid, XPEED 1 and XPEED 3 certified by MTIC INTERCERT
In line with a company policy of transparency and continuous improvement of its product standards, Fabbri Group has embarked on a voluntary product certification path for the high-speed wrapping machines Automac 55 Più, Automac 75 and Automac 95 and the tray-sealers TopLid, XPEED 1 e XPEED 3 with the independent certification body MTIC INTERCERT.
In confirmation of the EC mark affixed on these machines, the new certification represents a third-party attestation of compliance with the Community Directive 2006/42/EC.

Fabbri Group has also embarked on a voluntary product certification path for the automatic stretch wrappers of the Elixa serie with the independent certification body TÜV SÜD In confirmation of the EC mark affixed on these machines.

ISO 14001: 2015 - Environmental Management System
In the context of the Group, the first certification of the Environmental Management System dates back to 2002 for the film factory in Vignola. This choice was based on the strong will to show how a chemical processing plant could check and limit its impact on the environment through sustainable management of its production processes. All the production facilities subsequently became part of the same certification scheme. In 2012 the company adopted an Environmental Management System common to all its production plants, aiming to generally improve their sustainability performances through comparisons with each other. In 2015, the companies Gruppo Fabbri Vignola S.p.A. and Gruppo Fabbri Svizzera S.A. have managed the transition to the 2015 edition of the ISO 14001 certification, including, moreover, a structured approach to risk management in relation to environmental issues. The commitment of the Company to environmental sustainability is formalised in the 'Environmental Policy' document which is the guide for the application and maintenance of the Environmental Management System aimed at continuous performance improvement. REGISTRATION EMAS – Regulation UE 2018/2026
The EC system for eco-management and the EMAS audit (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) constitute a system in which businesses and organisations can take part voluntarily, both public and private, established in the territory of the European Community or outside it, wishing to evaluate and improve their environmental efficiency. EMAS is primarily aimed at improving the environment and providing organisations, controlling authorities and citizens (and the public at large) with an instrument through which it is possible to obtain information on the environmental performance of organisations. The EMAS registration is issued directly by a technical committee of the Italian Ministry of Environment and certifies, in addition to commitment to sustainability, compliance with relevant laws and regulations applicable to the environment. The film factory in Vignola, registered in EMAS in 2002 with registration no. 136, is among the first at the national level and, in absolute terms, the first in the sector of film production for food packaging. In 2009 the EMAS scheme was extended to the registered office and the machine factory in Vignola. In 2012 the Milan office joined the EMAS scheme. ISO 45001:2018 - Occupational Health and Safety Management System
ISO 45001:2018 (formerly OHSAS 18001:2007) is the most recent certification acquired by Gruppo Fabbri Vignola S.p.A. The Company Management considers it an effective tool to optimize the management of risks to the health and safety of workers. Through the continuous monitoring and analysis of any non-conformities, accidents and near misses and the full respect of the relevant legislation in force, which is in continuous evolution, the Company, that considers prevention a key element for the protection of its Staff, aims to verify and adapt continuously its performances in health and safety at work.

For over 30 years Gruppo Fabbri Vignola S.p.A. has invested in quality improvement, the healthiness and safety of their products through: constant interaction with related authorities in the sector, acquisition and enhancement of skills and gradual introduction of technology more suited to achieving the necessary goals of customer satisfaction as well as providing a guarantee to the user and end consumer.

In recent years the company has also intensified efforts in research on the environmental sustainability of their products and processes. The formulations of plastic films are in line with the Reach Regulation and can therefore be considered safe and sustainable in terms of impact on the environment and human health, with complete traceability of individual components. The team dedicated to research and development is engaged in the study of sizes and materials that reduce the environmental impact of products to a minimum, both during use and at the end of use, in an effort to:

• reduce the amount of material used for packaging;
• reduce the machinable sizes by using the specific stretch characteristics of films;
• reduce the consumption of industrial gases for packaging in a protective atmosphere;
• use materials that facilitate proper recyclability, compatible with recycling systems.

Beyond this, the company has achieved excellent results with regard to reduction in water consumption associated with production processes as well as reduction in processing waste, most of which is destined to internal re-use or external recovery.
