Fabbri Group voluntarily joins the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) Programme, aimed at preventing marine pollution from microplastics which may be lost into the environment during the production, transport and handling of plastic-based raw materials or finished products.

OCS provides a guide of best practices and operational solutions for all players in the supply chain to prevent plastic from accidentally ending up in the environment: this is one of the pillars, at global level, on which the “Joint declaration for solutions to the problem of marine litter” is based, document signed in 2011 by the worldwide Leaders of the Plastics Industry during the 5th International Conference on Marine Debris in Honolulu.

Currently, 1,564 companies around the world joined Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) and are implementing effective corrective actions and preventive measures to manage this type of risk. The initiative involves the entire production and logistics chain in the sector, with the aim of preventing and combating marine litter through constant monitoring and self-correction – when needed – of production and logistics processes, adaptation and improvement of plant and equipment, staff information and training on the correct procedures to follow, etc.

Among those companies is Fabbri Group, which, although already active in terms of proper environmental management and pollution prevention, has recently joined the initiative with its production plants in Vignola and Muzzano (CH), in order to improve its performance by drawing on the best sustainability practices applicable to its business sector.

Fabbri Group’s voluntary participation in the Operation Clean Sweep® (OCS) Program confirms once again the Company’s commitment to the care and preservation of the environment in a proactive perspective of continuous improvement and expansion of its own possibilities.
