Already\u00a020 years ago<\/strong>, Gruppo Fabbri Vignola implemented an environmental management system and started handle its\u00a0environmental communication in accordance with\u00a0Regulation (CE) No 1221\/2009, obtaining and maintaining over time the\u00a0EMAS\u00a0<\/strong>(Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Registration. EMAS is the\u00a0voluntary\u00a0<\/strong>certification scheme\u00a0<\/strong>that\u00a0all companies\u00a0within the European Union,\u00a0committed to\u00a0environmental efficiency<\/strong>\u00a0&<\/strong>\u00a0transparency\u00a0<\/strong>towards all parties interested in their performance,\u00a0<\/strong>can adopt.<\/p>\n

The EMAS registration is issued by a\u00a0technical Committee of the Italian Ministry for the Environment<\/strong>, in collaboration with local authorities and independent certification bodies, and certifies not only a commitment to sustainability, but also full compliance with applicable national and local environmental laws and regulations. The supervisory authorities are therefore directly involved in issuing and maintaining this registration, together with the independent certification bodies.<\/span><\/div>\n

As part of the EMAS Registration, the Company is obliged to draw up and disseminate the “Environmental Statement<\/strong>“, providing, on an annual basis, an update of the\u00a0key indicators<\/strong>\u00a0relating to its environmental performance, and its\u00a0projects\u00a0<\/strong>on\u00a0development\u00a0&\u00a0sustainability\u00a0<\/strong>with regard to processes or services, and\u00a0 to products. The\u00a0company\u00a0performance<\/strong>\u00a0in terms of managing environmental emergencies and any accidents or anomalies is also examined, together\u00a0with the corrective or improvement actions taken. The contents of the “Environmental Statement”\u00a0are then\u00a0verified<\/strong>, in terms of correctness and clarity, first during the\u00a0annual<\/strong>\u00a0audit by the independent certification body, and then, before formalisation, by the technical Committee of the Ministry of the Environment.<\/span><\/div>\n

The “Environmental Statement”\u00a0must be provided to all interested parties who explicitly request it.<\/p>\n

The EMAS registration also requires companies that have signed up to it to involve all their\u00a0business partners<\/strong>, as well as their\u00a0employees<\/strong>, in a\u00a0virtuous circle of sustainability<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In\u00a02002<\/strong>, the Vignola\u00a0film plant was one of the first chemical processing companies in Italy, and\u00a0the first one\u00a0in the food packaging film production sector<\/strong>, to adhere to EMAS. Subsequently, in\u00a02009<\/strong>, the\u00a0EMAS registration was extended to the Vignola machine factory and, finally, in\u00a02012<\/strong>, also to the Milan site. To this day, this Scheme represents an excellent tool promoted by local and national authorities as a\u00a0guarantee of excellent environmental performance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
