\nTHE PROBLEM: when manual wrapping cannot cope anymore\u2026<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

In Vietnam, the brand \u201cSan H\u00e0<\/strong>\u201d identifies, among others, fresh wrapped chicken and duck<\/strong> products on sale at most Vietnamese supermarkets.
\nAt the beginning of 2015, San H\u00e0 Foods<\/a><\/strong> <\/em>was a traditional medium-sized family-owned poultry house, located in the outskirts of Ho Chi Minh City<\/strong>, with a fairly good manual packaging system<\/strong> producing around 5-mln packs\/year<\/strong>.
\nHowever, a fast increasing business<\/strong> was putting the Company \u2013 at that time on the edge of its capacity \u2013 clearly into troubles: the complete packaging system needed to be audited and improved quickly.<\/p>\n


\nTHE SOLUTION: give it a hand and switch to automation!<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

San H\u00e0 Foods had a turnover of max. 30 people<\/strong> working in 2 shifts<\/strong> at 20 hand-wrapping stations<\/strong>, reaching the peak speed of no. 3,400 trays\/h<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Thanks to the support of Fabbri Group<\/a><\/em>\u2019s local dealer FPT<\/a><\/strong><\/em> during a previous auditing period, the Company agreed on the need of improving its packaging efficiency <\/strong>through automation<\/strong>. This would have involved:<\/p>\n

– The purchase of a new, fast automatic wrapper
\n<\/strong>– The review of the current packaging procedures
\n<\/strong>– A new organization of the packaging room
\n<\/strong>– An initial need for local technical support <\/strong>and staff training<\/strong> on the new automatic line<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n– April 2015<\/strong>: satisfied of the field test results, San H\u00e0 Foods<\/em> orders the machine
\n– Today<\/strong>: at present Fabbri Group<\/em>\u2019s Automac 55 Pi\u00f9<\/strong><\/em> works at 45 pcs\/1\u2019<\/strong>, employing just 4 operators\u00a0totally,<\/strong>\u00a0for the benefit of San H\u00e0 Foods<\/em>\u2019 productivity and human resources management
\n– Before the end of 2016<\/strong>: sale\u00a0of 2 other\u00a0additional machines Automac 55 Pi\u00f9<\/em><\/strong> to San H\u00e0 Foods<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n

What was your main reason for preferring an automatic wrapper instead of your usual manual system?<\/strong>
\nThe manual system has many advantages and many disadvantages: it depends on the size of business what makes the most out of it. For small-size business, manual systems can offer low cost investment, easy to buy, easy to maintain, easy to operate. However, medium-size businesses, like ours, concentrate on efficiency, effectiveness and laborsaving, then the manual system is irrelevant.
\nFor our capacity, we need at least 20 hand-wrap machines, which need at least 30 people to operate:\u00a0taking into account people problem, then it is better for us to invest into an automatic system<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Why Fabbri Group <\/em>instead of other manufacturers?<\/strong>
\nWe have tried other packaging machine manufacturers but they don\u2019t match our needs, while Fabbri Group<\/em> does. For instance, we tried shrink bags, but the machine doesn\u2019t work well.
\nAlso the after-sales services are key<\/strong>: the representative partner here has done a very good job taking care of us!<\/p>\n

Was there any internal issue or doubt you had to clear-up before deciding?<\/strong>
\nThe greatest doubt we used to have was: who will take care of us in case of machine breakdown?

\nThe product looks nicer, clean and neat<\/strong> if compared to that coming from a hand-wrapping machine.
\nAlthough the machine creates huge investment costs, taking into consideration the savings on labor costs and on people-generated problems<\/strong>, the investment is worth it.<\/p>\n
